Ko Maas — "How do we make a compliant customer as valuable as the old one?"
You moved from direct supplement ads to a compliant ebook front end with supplements as the back end. It scales at break-even. The ebook buyer is worth a fraction of a supplement buyer and few cross over.
This report runs that exact problem against the FunnelBrain library. One funnel in the library already runs your model end to end and closes at 4.4x its front-end price on the thank-you page. Every recommendation below points at a real page you can open. Where the library has nothing, it says so.

1. How we read your message
The Slack reply was translated into a customer profile and run through the pattern scorer, the page-content index, and the media index. The profile is saved next to this report as profile.json.
Field
What we took from your message
Vertical / model
Supplements, hybrid. One-time ebook front end, subscription back end wanted.
Front end
Low-ticket compliant ebook. Price not stated, modelled at ~$10 to $27.
Already building
Bigger back ends: bumps, upsells, bundles. Ebook-buyer-to-subscription. Compliant angles to sell supplements directly again.
Problems (scorer vocabulary)
low LTV · low back-end conversion · one-time buyers not converting to subscription · low margin · compliance restrictions · ad fatigue
Constraints
Regulator warning killed direct supplement ads. EU cannot use US angles.
Your own framing
"Not a traffic problem, a 'how do we make a compliant customer as valuable as the old one' problem."
What the library says in one line: the brands that make a low-ticket front end pay do not try to make the ebook buyer more valuable later. They make the supplement the first upsell, on autoship, inside the same session, then add a second recurring line, then use email for the ones who said no. The front end is the qualifier, not the product.
2. The funnel that already runs your model: Simple Brain Fix
Simple Brain Fix sells a $27 digital book, "The Unbreakable Brain", to cold traffic. It is positioned as a complete product, not a lead magnet. The moment the book is bought, the funnel offers a supplement on autoship, then a monthly membership that bundles digital and physical, then a discounted annual plan. The scraped thank-you page shows the real order total.
ScrapedSales page, price section. $27 today, $99 regular, bonuses framed as "What's the value of avoiding dementia".full page
ScrapedOTO 1 after the bridge video. 1 / 3 / 6-month supply, "AutoRefill" price pre-selected, one-time delivery as the alternative.full page
ScrapedOTO 2, membership. Digital $19.99/mo, Digital + Physical $29.99/mo marked "Most Popular", was $39.99.full page
ScrapedThank-you page. Book $27, S&H $9.99, CogniForce autoship $51, PMP monthly $29.99. Total $117.98. Digital downloads delivered on the same page.full page
ScrapedOTO 1 as first seen. No price. A video plays first, then the supplement offer drops in. The book-to-supplement bridge is a VSL, not a product card.full page
ScrapedDecline the monthly, get the annual. Popup on OTO 2: 30% off, $21/mo if paid annually, $252 total.full page
Why this maps onto your situation. The book is the compliant front end. Nothing on the sales page needs a supplement claim to close. The supplement claim lives in the OTO 1 video, shown only to buyers. And the buyer is never asked to "become" a supplement customer later: the supplement is pre-selected on autoship 30 seconds after the book, and the membership makes the physical product part of a recurring plan. 3. Six moves, each with a real page
1Put the supplement on OTO 1, autoship pre-selected, with a bridge
The fix for "only a small share go on to buy supplements" is to stop leaving that decision to a later email. Two funnels in the library sell a supplement as the upsell to a non-supplement front end. Both do it immediately, both with multi-bottle tiers.
ScrapedRejuvaCare OTO 3. Knee massager buyer ($79.99) is offered a knee-pain supplement: 1 bottle $28.99, 3 at $25, 6 at $22.99.full page
ScrapedRejuvaCare checkout. The supplement is not bumped here. Checkout bumps are cheap and physical-adjacent ($9.95 expedited, $9.99 straps, $4.99 protection). The supplement waits for its own page.full page
Rule from both: a category change (book to supplement, device to supplement) gets a full page with a video or long copy, never a checkbox. The pattern new-opportunity-upsell-bridge calls this the single biggest unforced error in branded upsells: skipping the paragraph that names the new problem and explains why this product fits it.
2Bump digital at the ebook checkout, keep physical for the OTO
Order bumps on a $27 digital checkout work when the bump is also digital and same-topic. The library has two scraped examples with take rates or totals visible.
ScrapedMovesMethod. $27 Mobility Toolkit, bump "Splits in 30 Days" for $17, copy states 63% of buyers take it.checkout page
ScrapedPDF Farming. $27 front end, two bumps at $27 and $37, order total $91 with both ticked. 3.4x the entry price before any OTO.full page
For you: a second ebook, a recipe pack, a protocol PDF, an audio version. All compliant, all zero COGS, all raise the front-end cart so the ad account breathes. Patterns: level-3-multiplelevel-2-zero-cogs
3Add a recurring line even when the buyer said no to the supplement
Simple Brain Fix's OTO 2 and Nooro's OTO 2 and 3 exist for the buyer who declined the first upsell. They are memberships and consumables framed as a programme, not a product.
ArticleNooro upsell page. Video-led upsell after a one-time device. From the FOTW breakdown: OTO 2 Herbal Heat Pads at $60/mo took 8.4% of buyers, OTO 3 "11X Health Club" at $97/mo took 7.2%.scraped PDP
ArticleClub Early Bird VIP Auto-Ship. Pre-purchase popup: $0 today, $54 every 6 weeks, 20% off, countdown. Shown to bundle buyers before checkout, not after.scraped PDP
Two recurring lines on the same order is what turned Simple Brain Fix's $27 into $117.98 with $81 of it recurring. Patterns: level-4-continuityzero-discount-upsell
4Make subscription the default with a visible one-time alternative
Every supplement checkout in the library that converts to subscription at the point of purchase does the same three things: pre-selects subscribe, shows the saving as a number, and leaves the one-time option present but smaller.
ScrapedClarity MD. "Delivery every 30 days" and $9.95 expedited ticked on landing. "Try it once" is a small link.full
ScrapedPrimal Queen. Subscription $44 with jar, pill case, mystery gift, free shipping. One-time $64 with none of it.full
ScrapedSeranova. One-time buyer sees "Upgrade to subscription and save $21" inside the order summary.full
Also scraped: Ancestral Supplements (subscribe & save 10% plus a 25%-off add-on in the same checkout) and MUD\WTR (subscription as the first post-purchase upsell). Pattern: subscription-front-end
5Put the ebook inside the supplement offer too
You run the ebook in front of the supplement. The library's supplement brands run the ebook inside the supplement offer as a zero-COGS bonus. Both can be true at once: the ebook is the EU front end, and it is also the bonus that makes the supplement bundle look bigger than the one-bottle price.
ScrapedClarity MD lander. Three ebooks with stated values inside the "Special Offer On Now" block, next to 1 / 2+1 / 3+2 bundle tiers at $29.99 base.full page
ArticleClub Early Bird $14 sample pack. Shaker, ebook and free shipping inside a $14 supplement entry. The upgrade popup adds "FREE E-Book" again at $59.84.upgrade popup
RejuvaCare does the same on its PDP: two free ebooks with the 60%-off massager. Pattern: digital-bonus-stack. The pattern's own note: tie the bonus content to the ingredients of the products you want to sell next, and put the "learn more" link inside the PDF.
6Run the day-0 to day-3 email bridge for the ones who said no
RejuvaCare's post-purchase sequence is scraped email by email. It delivers the free ebooks on day 0, then sends a sales email on day 1 and day 2, before the shipment email. That is the slot where an ebook buyer who declined OTO 1 gets the supplement a second time.
ScrapedDay 1, email 4. Sales email, before the product has shipped.full
ArticleNooro confirmation email. "Book your protocol review call" CTA inside the order confirmation. Near-100% click-through reported in the breakdown.full
Patterns: post-purchase-engagement-sequencethank-you-page-booking. The compliance category adds one relevant data point from outside supplements: Booming Bookkeeping closes a $5,000 back end from a $47 front end with a 34-step email sequence and no sales call.
4. Where the library is thin
We do not have a documented EU-compliant supplement ad angle or lander. The compliance category is built from one MMO funnel (Booming Bookkeeping: sell a real skill, not an income dream, behind a $47 paid challenge). The transferable idea is "sell the protocol, not the cure", which is what your ebook already does. There is no scraped EU supplement page to show you.
International creative scaling (Cocunat, Lulutox, BugMD) exists only as video frames. The pattern notes EU claim rules differ but has no EU-specific lander evidence.
Claim-hiding tactics are in the library (SkinnyFit's "no claims in the ad, claims deep-funnel"). They are platform-review evasion, not regulator compliance. Not recommended for someone who has already had a warning.
Everyday Dose ($25 front end into $36/mo rebills) is the cleanest subscription-front-end economics in the library but exists only as video frames, so it is not cited above.
If you can share one of your EU landers and one US lander, we can ingest both and the next report can compare them page by page against the funnels above.
5. Questions this report cannot answer without you
What is the ebook priced at, and what does the current checkout cart look like with bumps? Simple Brain Fix and PDF Farming both reach 3x to 4x entry price before the first OTO.
Is the supplement currently offered inside the same session as the ebook, or only by email later? If only email, move 1 is the whole story.
Do you have anything that can be a second recurring line (a membership, a monthly protocol, a consumable) for buyers who decline the supplement?
Which regulator, and what exactly did the warning cover: the ad claims, the lander claims, or the product? That decides whether the OTO 1 video can carry the supplement claim to buyers only.
What is the EU vs US split in traffic and revenue? The US half may not need the ebook front end at all.
